DIAKADI is proud to host Steel Mace Training Coach Rich Thurman for a four week introductory course that will introduce you and your body to the steel mace and the discipline associated with this unique training apparatus. This Mace Flow Training Course will run for four Thursday evenings: 

October 5, 12, 26, and November 2

6:15-7:30p on the second floor turf at DIAKADI HQ.

About Rich:

Coach Rich Thurman MA, CSCS, CPT has been a strength coach for over 15 years. He previously trained in Southeast Asia for many years, working in various disciplines and training a variety of athletes.

Rich is known as The Unconventional Specialist, combining ground based movement with the use of Steel Maces, Indian Clubs, Steel Clubs, Kettlebells and Sandbags. He’s been working specifically with the Steel Mace for over 4 years and evolving his programs and training methodologies to meet the Strength & Conditioning needs of both athletes and the general population. 

About Steel Mace:

The Steel Mace is derived from the ancient Indian tool known as the Gada. It was the weapon of choice of the Hindu diety Hanuman, revered by wrestlers for his strength and by Yogis for his service. He is strong yet mobile, powerful yet agile. Brought to the Western world, the Gada has been transformed from its traditional bamboo and clay, to steel. The Steel Mace is shorter than it’s Indian cousin and lends itself to both Traditional movements as well as an evolving array of new methods to move and train.
