BIO.

Carlos has been an athlete all of his life. He went from dominating 4 squares, duck-duck-goose, freeze tag and dodgeball to dominating the volleyball court in high school and college. As a middle blocker for the State Champion men's volleyball team at Pierce College in Woodland Hills, California, Carlos developed an appreciation for strength and conditioning. It was there that he decided to take courses in Human Anatomy and Physiology to understand how the body moves and responds during exercise. After graduating with an associates degree he went on to study Kinesiology at the university of Nevada Las Vegas.

In Las Vegas, he was able to link the science with his intuitive understanding of movement and physiology. He helped establish the school's first Powerlifting Club and was a member of the UNLV boxing team. He also had a valuable learning experience as an intern for a former World Strongest Man competitor, Mark Philippi, at Philippi Sports Institute. He helped the staff with the daily training sessions of its members, which consisted of young athletes, soccer moms, professional fighters and cirque de soleil performers. He gained amazing insight about developing training principles that he still uses today. For him, simplification is best way to achieve goals.

A foundation is always built on consistent habits and simple principles.  As he puts it,"With the overwhelming amount of information and the confusing context with which this information is being presented, it helps when someone can deconstruct it into something that is easily digestible. Above all else, Carlos tells his clients to enjoy the process.

Carlos Solis is a good man and a good trainer, with a knack for working collaboratively and attentively in an effort to help you meet your goals. The first asset that anyone doing this job needs to possess is an ability to read their client correctly and assemble a program that is both challenging and fun. Carlos does this effortlessly, no doubt a result of his wide knowledge of athletics and training regimens. During the sessions, he is completely focused on you and your form, watching and correcting consistently and to your benefit. Between sets, his is a genial presence. Carlos is the most straightforward and honest trainer I have worked with, and I have worked with many trainers. He pushes you to set and meet realistic fitness goals. Carlos continued to work with me through a serious illness and running injuries, adapting the workouts to help me recover from both while still progressing and getting stronger. He consistently goes above and beyond our workout time together providing general advice, nutrition advice and workout plans when I am out of town - all to help me meet my fitness objectives. His workouts have made me stronger and have had other side benefits - including improved posture - something my mother never could accomplish. He correctly identified weak areas and ensured that those were improved through a variety of exercises. When I started training with Carlos, I was not in good shape. I really appreciated that he was not judgmental and that he just started with very basic exercises, set feasible goals and was enthusiastically focused on working with me to meet those basic goals - which now seem laughable. Even though Carlos makes you work hard, he has a great sense of humor that makes everything easier.
