Squats are a movement that most of us perform several times a day as we get up from a chair, or more importantly from the toilet. So knowing how to perform it safely, in alignment, and using the correct muscles, is important for maintaining your muscle function and for keeping your hips, knees and ankles pain free as well as injury free.
